How to Correct a Slide on Icy Roads
It is essential to know how to handle a slide on icy roads to keep you and your passengers safe. When driving in cold weather, keep an eye out for shaded areas, bridges, overpasses, and intersections since they are commonly slippery.
In case of a slide, take your foot off the accelerator to transfer weight to the front tires and regain traction gently. Turn the steering wheel in the direction you want to go or to counter-steer the vehicle. Avoid over-correcting your turns; you could cause the rear tires to lose traction.
