Participating in a carpool is a great way to save time and money. When it is your turn to drive, however, you want to make sure you are prepared. At Trevor Merren Auto, we want you to consider a few things that can make the commute smoother for everyone involved.
A clean vehicle is an obvious way to start. Remove any garbage and vacuum so that you are not known as the parent with the "messy car" in the greater Grand Rapids area. Then, load your vehicle with things like tissues, baby wipes, and even a few bandages. Even if your drives are relatively short, you never know what can happen when you have a car full of kids.
Make it known right away that you will not move the car until everyone inside has buckled up. If you are picking up the kids after school, having snacks is a good way to keep the peace. Be sure to check with parents about allergies and get permission to feed their child, however.
